Tai Chi for Better Balance – 3 hour ZOOM class (OBMT approved for 3 CE’s in self-care)
Course Description: Tai chi is the popular abbreviation for Tai Chi Chuan, an ancient exercise system combining slow, relaxed movements with a meditation component. It is the martial application of Qigong, which means “energy work”. Research studies show that Tai chi may improve balance, reduce fall rates and fear of falling, and increase strength, functional mobility, flexibility and psychological well-being.
Beginners and experienced practitioners can both benefit from this class. The 8 component movements of this form are easy to learn and practice can be adapted for seated practice and medical conditions. Build community by learning and practicing Tai Chi with others. This class presents a simple Tai Chi form that can improve balance, improve body mechanics, and prevent falling.
